About the Role
As a Pump Service Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering fast, reliable, and high-quality pump servicing. You'll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and testing pumps returned from the field, while also supporting after sales queries, warranty claims, component assembly and spare parts coordination. Some travel to customer sites will be required for service support and commissioning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, solving complex problems and working closely with both internal teams and external clients to keep essential systems running smoothly.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Manage Aquatec's existing and future maintenance contracts, ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery
Respond to client enquiries related to faults, breakdowns, and pump installations, providing clear technical advice and solutions
Deliver after-sales support, including occasional site visits to troubleshoot pump and process control issues
Perform inspection, testing, and repairs of returned pumps and control systems in line with service standards
Assemble, install, and service mechanical components as required to support project and client needs
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for critical spare parts to ensure prompt service turnaround
Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound pumps, working closely with internal teams and freight partners
Manage warranty claims and return processes with suppliers, ensuring accurate documentation and resolution
Uphold a calm, professional, and solutions-focused approach when engaging with customers, especially in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations
About You
We're looking for a self-motivated, mechanically minded professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting customers and working in a collaborative team environment. You take pride in your work, stay calm under pressure and are always looking for ways to improve the service experience for clients.
You'll thrive in this role if you have a strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repair. You're someone who understands the importance of clear communication, accurate record-keeping and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. You enjoy variety in your day, whether it's diagnosing pump issues in the workshop, supporting customers over the phone, or travelling to site for urgent service support or commissioning. Experience working with pumps, mechanical systems, or in water infrastructure environments will be highly regarded.
Some of your primary tasks would include;
Proven customer service experience, with the ability to engage professionally and resolve technical issues with confidence
Strong time management and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
High attention to detail when diagnosing faults, completing repairs, and documenting service activity
Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment, components, and repair practices
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel for occasional site support or commissioning
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership of your work
