We are a privately-owned metallurgical coal mining company in the renowned Bowen Basin of Central Queensland. Fitzroy Mining Operations own and operate Carborough Downs Coal Mine - bord & pillar operation, Broadlea Opencut and Ironbark No.1 Mine, the newest longwall mine in Australia.
About the role
As a frontline leader, the ERZ Lead/Undermanager is responsible for the day-to-day functioning and performance of the crew. You will effectively manage people and equipment to carry out planned work activities. This role also has statutory obligations.
The minimum skills and expectations for this role are, but not limited to:
* Prioritising activities with the crew to achieve targets;
* Provide leadership to the crew, setting a positive example and assisting the team to achieve their full potential;
* Clearly define and communicate performance goals and provide regular and objective feedback on performance;
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory requirements and carrying out statutory inspections;
* Ensuring all workers work safely and efficiently whilst carrying out their duties with due regard for quality of work;
* Complete required levels of reporting as part of information flow on site.
About You
* QLD / NSW First, Second or Third-class Certificate of Competency (with QLD mutual recognition if necessary)
* Relevant experience in a similar position within the mining industry
* Strong leadership acumen
* The ability to think laterally
* Strong problem-solving skills
