Your new company
Our client is a leading delivery partner supporting a federal government program of national significance and is seeking to bring on multiple CDS Specialists on a permanent basis. This initiative plays a critical role in strengthening Australia's cyber defence posture across complex ICT and OT environments. You'll be part of a high-performing team working on-site to deliver secure, resilient solutions aligned with national standards and strategic objectives.
Your new role
As a CDS Specialist, you'll play a key role in delivering security assessment and assurance activities focused on IRAP and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS). Working onsite within a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to the secure design, governance, and compliance of complex ICT and OT systems supporting a nationally significant program.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading and conducting IRAP assessments and CDS evaluations across secure environments
* Providing expert advice on cyber security architecture, assurance, and governance
* Developing and maintaining security documentation including risk registers, PoAMs, design briefs, and decision papers
* Auditing engineering designs, development processes, and system implementations
* Collaborating with solution architects, systems engineers, and cyber teams to ensure secure integration
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including government security bodies, to ensure compliance
* Supporting export control documentation and ITAR compliance processes
* Contributing to technical scoping, schedule development, and contract change proposals
* Guiding the implementation of security controls across cloud, virtualised, and containerised environments
* Promoting best practices in DevSecOps and Security-as-a-Service (SecAAS) models
* Staying current with evolving cyber threats, technologies, and regulatory frameworks relevant to national security
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with two positions available. While IRAP certification is highly regarded, it is not mandatory - candidates on the pathway to accreditation will be supported with certification funding and broader learning and development opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
* NV1 clearance (minimum), with ability to obtain NV2
* ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or equivalent
* IRAP certification is highly regarded
* Background in hardware/software/firmware development
* Familiarity with cyber maturity models (e.g. C2M2)
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field
* Experience across ICT and OT systems
* Strong knowledge of ISM, NIST, PSPF, DSPF frameworks
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
