About the Role
We are searching for an experienced Network Engineer to join a major telco's Network Operations team. This is a great opportunity for a junior-to-intermediate engineer who wants to build hands-on experience across enterprise networking, security operations, and cloud environments.
You'll play a key role in maintaining the performance, availability, and security of corporate IT networks that support critical enterprise applications. Working in a 24/7 operations environment, you'll be responsible for monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement of network services.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor, manage, and respond to network events and alarms within SLA
* Perform incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA)
* Support IP network operations across on-prem and cloud environments
* Administer and support:
o Cisco routers and switches
o Cisco platforms (TACACS, ISE, Wi-Fi)
o Network Monitoring Systems (NMS)
o Load balancers
o Firewalls (Check Point & Fortinet)
o Log management tools (e.g. Splunk)
* Investigate and respond to security and network incidents
* Contribute to change management processes and system improvements
* Maintain and enhance triage documentation and operational playbooks
* Identify opportunities to automate monitoring and incident response workflows
* Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes, documentation, and service delivery
Key Accountabilities / KPIs
* Timely response to incidents and alarms in line with SLA
* Reduction in mean time to respond (MTTR) and resolve incidents
* Improved network availability and performance
* High standard of customer service and system reliability
* Accurate and up-to-date documentation, playbooks, and monitoring systems
* Continuous improvement through automation and process optimisation
About You
* 1-3+ years' experience in network operations, NOC, or similar environment
* Exposure to enterprise networking technologies (Cisco preferred)
* Basic understanding of network security principles and tools
* Experience with monitoring tools and incident management systems
* Familiarity with ITIL practices (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
* Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 shift environment
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
