We're seeking a professional and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join a leading specialist healthcare practice. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys providing exceptional patient service, supporting a busy team of doctors, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of medical operations.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for patients, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding service and administrative support. You will manage patient bookings, billing, and correspondence while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality administrative and reception support to medical practitioners and patients
* Manage patient appointments, referrals, and billing (including Medicare and health fund claims)
* Handle patient enquiries with professionalism and empathy
* Process payments, invoices, and daily banking
* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support efficient clinic operations
About You
* Previous experience working in medical rooms or specialist practices - ideally within Ophthalmology or a similar healthcare setting
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and patient management systems
* Knowledge of Medicare and private health fund billing procedures
* Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
* Reliable, well-presented, and a strong team player
Requirements
* Current National Police Check and Working With Children Check
* Vaccination compliance documentation (desirable)
