As we settle into an exciting new chapter under new ownership, we are seeking an experienced, passionate and hands-on Cellar Door Manager to lead our hospitality operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences in our unique vineyard setting. The Role
Puddleduck is a relaxed and welcoming destination for locals and visitors alike, offering wine tastings, light lunches, events and special occasions in a picturesque vineyard setting.
As Cellar Door Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the cellar door, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable and engaging experience. You'll lead the team, drive sales performance, and bring the Puddleduck brand and wines to life through exceptional service and storytelling.
This full-time role is perfect for a hospitality professional who enjoys both leading a team and being hands-on with guests.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the daily operations of the cellar door, ensuring smooth and professional service
* Deliver exceptional guest experiences while achieving sales targets
* Host engaging and informative wine tastings that showcase our wines and brand story
* Implement initiatives to increase visitation, revenue and customer loyalty
* Manage cellar door inventory, stock control and reporting
* Oversee wine club growth, engagement and member experiences
* Work closely with the winemaking team to highlight new releases and seasonal wines
* Assist in planning and delivering events, tastings and experiences that elevate the brand
* Foster a warm, welcoming environment where guests feel relaxed and eager to return
* Lead, motivate and develop the cellar door team
About You
You are an enthusiastic hospitality professional with a genuine passion for wine, service and creating memorable guest experiences.
You will bring:
* Strong sales experience with the ability to confidently convert tastings into sales
* Previous cellar door or hospitality leadership experience
* Excellent communication and storytelling skills
* A positive, hands-on approach and willingness to support the team on the floor
* Strong leadership and team development capabilities
* Outstanding customer service and guest engagement skills
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
* The ability to stay calm and solution-focused in a busy environment
* A reliable, honest and hardworking approach
Qualifications
* WSET qualification (preferred but not essential)
* Current RSA
