About the role
We are currently recruiting for aFleet Technicianto join the Operations People and Safety team based in Tamworth.
The Fleet Technician plays a key role in the operation of the Fleet Workshop by undertaking trade-based activities to diagnose, maintain, repair, refurbish and recondition Essential Energy's light fleet and specialised plant machinery including Elevated Worker Platforms (EWPs) and Crane Borers.
Responsibilities
Undertaking major inspections, refurbishments, reconditioning and body swaps across a wide range of fleet assets.
Carrying out diagnostic specialist testing and fault finding to ensure vehicles and plant meet compliance, regulatory and operational requirements.
Performing mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs as well as welding, machining, hydraulic, pneumatic and fabrication work.
Supporting the onboarding fit-out and inspection of new specialised fleet assets including cranes and EWPs ensuring they are introduced into service safely and efficiently.
Conducting in-field maintenance inspections and repairs during both planned and unplanned situations.
Delivering plant and equipment maintenance in line with industry and organisational standards to ensure reliability, safety and extended asset life.
About you
You bring hands-on experience in the motor and mechanical industry with strong skills in heavy and light fleet operations, plant equipment and specialist trades.
You're confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, auto electrics and fabrication and understand key industry standards and regulations.
Tech-savvy and detail-oriented, you work well independently or in a team managing priorities and using systems like SAP and Oracle Cloud to keep operations running smoothly.
Required Qualifications
Certificate III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology OR Certificate III Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
Current NSW Driver's Licence (HR).
WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert.
