About the Role
This is a leadership position within our Regulation and Enforcement team, where you will guide a group of professionals in delivering high-quality compliance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead investigations into unauthorized development, land use, pollution, and environmental breaches.
2. Mentor and support a diverse team to ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
3. Triage and prioritize customer service requests using a risk-based approach.
4. Develop and implement proactive compliance programs and community education initiatives.
5. Support the council in legal proceedings and collaborate with external stakeholders and agencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A recognized tertiary qualification in a related field with extensive relevant experience.
* Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a regulatory or compliance setting.
* Familiarity with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, and related legislation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate conflict or sensitive community issues.
* Pas sion for developing proactive compliance programs and community education initiatives.
