About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Senior level consultants to join our Brisbane team. A specialist in disability access, universal design or human factors, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our major infrastructure projects are safe, intuitive, and accessible for everyone.
This is a key position where you will be the bridge between technology and people. You should be confident in communicating and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including engineers, clients, and end‐users. Your expertise will be crucial in translating complex technical requirements into user‐friendly and inclusive designs.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical Advisory: Provide strategic accessibility advice throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
* Design Integration: Collaborate with multi‐disciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, and urban planners, to integrate seamless accessibility solutions into complex public and private infrastructure.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Represent Sener in consultations with clients, regulatory bodies, and community disability advocacy groups to ensure project outcomes meet both legislative and community expectations.
* Compliance Auditing: Conduct comprehensive reviews of architectural and engineering documentation to ensure alignment with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), the National Construction Code (NCC), and relevant Australian Standards (AS 1428 series).
About You
* Accreditation: Current membership or accreditation with the Association of Consultants in Access Australia (ACAA) is highly regarded.
* Regulatory Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the Commonwealth DDA, Premises Standards, and the Transport Standards (DSAPT).
* Industry Tenure: Proven experience in a consultancy or internal advisory role, preferably within the large‐scale infrastructure or transport sectors.
* Communication Excellence: Advanced report‐writing skills and the ability to articulate technical compliance requirements to diverse project stakeholders clearly and persuasively.
* Proven experience in accessibility, universal design or human factors.
* Proven ability to confidently engage with and influence senior stakeholders, engineers, and clients.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
* A passion for creating designs that are not only functional but also safe, efficient, and accessible to all.
* A proactive and collaborative mindset, ready to tackle complex challenges and contribute to a high‐performing team.
Requirements
* A relevant degree (bachelor or masters)
* Membership of a relevant professional body, with a desire to achieve registered/chartered status
* At least 3 years of relevant experience
* Ideally Brisbane based
