Our client is a specialist debt markets trustee services firm, seeking to hire a Payments Operations contractor, for an initial 3m contract duration.
Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for an Operations Specialist on a 3-month fixed-term contract. The Operations Specialist is responsible for the authorisation of payments and securities as well as the everyday operational components required to manage and monitor clients’ payment instructions to be processed by the Operations Team. There is also responsibility for bank reconciliations
The role is to carry out these tasks in accordance with the agreed standards and to manage ad-hoc matters as they arise. To give you an example of a day in the life of an Operations Specialist, some of the tasks include but are not limited to:
Authorising:
* The authorising of all payments, including STP, RTGS and International transfers in various banking systems,
* Securities trades in external platforms
Operational:
* Manage and monitor the central payments mailbox
* Payment data entry.
* Facilitate payment instructions to the Client Service Team for approval.
* Process payments in accordance with service level agreements.
Reconciliations:
* The end of day reconciliation of payments
* Monthly bank account reconciliations
* Download online bank statements.
Requirements:
* Numerical literacy and confidence to work with figures
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
