About the role
The Development Manager will be focused on the management of multiple land subdivision projects, taking each project from the approval of a Development Application to registration of a Plan of Subdivision
This role requires organisation and strong communication skills to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
* Work with the Central Real team to integrate project delivery with overall business objectives
* Regular reporting of project status.
* Liaise and coordinate project objectives and milestone with Local Government
* Manage residential subdivision projects through to completion
* Manage external consultants responsible for the design of each project
* Developing a trusted contractor base for the construction of Civil and Servicing works
* Coordinating all consultants and civil contractors.
* Manage the creation of the Project Brief utilising internal and external resources as required to prepare the base information and define expected outcomes
* Create and monitor the development programmes & budgets for each project
* Ensure all project revenues and costs (planning, consultant, development and construction) are monitored and managed in line with budgets and/or contracts in place.
* Ensure all project invoices are entered into invoice schedule for sign-off by the director
* Manage the design process to achieve a marketable cost-effective design that is documented in accordance with the Project and/or Product brief, budget and required timeframes
* Manage applications to Servicing and Consent authorities, including any required modifications.
* Ensure planning and development approvals are delivered in accordance with feasibility timeframes and the project brief
Experience & qualifications
* Bachelor degree either Construction Management, Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field
* Minimum 5+ years in a similar role
* Programming, cost, and procurement experience
* Strong understanding of:
o The land subdivision process through to registration of a Plan of Subdivision
o Procurement and management of civil construction contract contracts.
o Managing diverse consultant teams across multiple projects
o Directing projects across diverse geographic locations
The successful candidate will likely have :
* Experience in a consultant practice that supports developer clients
* Worked within a successful property development business
* Had a management role within a civil construction contractor
