Role
The Enterprise Analytics and Technology Services (EATS) section in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) are looking for Azure Platform Engineers who have experience in managing cloud-hosted infrastructure using infrastructure as code in support of data and analytics workloads.
Responsibilities
The role will be responsible for the detailed solution design, development, and implementation of infrastructure in Azure in support of data and analytics workloads. Outcomes are delivered using an infrastructure as code deployment model using Terraform.
Platforms and Technology
Azure-hosted Data and Analytics Platforms such as:
- Data Lake
- SQL Databases
- Synapse Analytics
Azure security features such as:
- Networking
- Identity and Access Management
- Policy
- Infrastructure as Code
- Terraform-based infrastructure management
- Infrastructure as a Service hosted platforms
- ArcGIS Enterprise
- Virtual Machine hosted services
- Desirable – Experience with legacy data technology solutions Oracle, Ingres, SQL Server, Wintel Server Network file shares
Security and Clearance
Preference is for candidates to hold a valid negative vetting level 1 security clearance.
Selection Criteria
Every application requires to address selection criteria as part of application submission.
1. Experience designing, building and maintaining cloud hosted platforms and services (Infrastructure, Platform and Software as a Service).
2. Experience developing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure using an infrastructure as code (IaC) approach.
3. Understanding of cloud security features for platforms and services such as Identity and Access Management, Networking and Policy.
4. Experience working in Data and Analytics focused projects (Data Engineering, Storage or Data Science).
5. Working with multi-disciplinary teams using an Agile methodology.
Note: The following items appear as part of the selection criteria: 1) Experience working with Data Lake; 2) Experience working with Geospatial platforms.
