Job Overview
The Quarry Operations Manager is a pivotal role responsible for providing comprehensive support to quarry managers, encompassing the delivery of capital upgrades, operational initiatives, and development of key positions within the quarry business.
This position involves implementing new operational initiatives, driving standardization, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while enhancing the operational performance of the quarry business.
Main Responsibilities
* Operational Management: Oversee daily operations with a focus on enhancement, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations that meet customer service requirements.
* Leadership: Demonstrate effective leadership to ensure a highly motivated team, promoting positive and initiative-taking approaches to coaching, mentoring, and training staff.
* Customer Relationships: Drive customer relationships to achieve suitable outcomes and prepare reports as required on work in progress, costs, variation, market trends, and competitor activities.
* Reporting and Budgeting: Report monthly on performance against KPIs and budget trends, assist with the development of operational budgets for all relevant sites, and support quarry development and ongoing production plans.
* Safety Leadership: Commit to regional safety standards, demonstrating safety leadership behaviors.
Requirements
* A QLD SSE ticket is mandatory.
* A background in mining, quarrying, and delivery processes is essential.
* Experience in Lean manufacturing is preferred.
* Proven management, leadership practices, and planning ability are required.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
* Well-developed leadership and team building experience is desirable.
* Analytical and strategic thinking skills are essential.
* Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
* A current driver's license is required.
