About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Warehouse & Transport Manager to oversee the storage, handling, and distribution of ungraded and graded eggs, along with packaging materials, across our operations. This role is critical to ensuring product integrity, food safety compliance, animal welfare standards, and efficient logistics that meet customer requirements.
Leading both warehouse and transport teams, you'll be responsible for delivering high service levels while maintaining strong standards across safety, quality, and cost efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced, perishable goods environment.
What You'll Do
Warehouse Operations
* Manage daily warehouse activities including receivals, storage, stock rotation, and dispatch of eggs and packaging materials
* Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation with ERP/WMS systems
* Implement and maintain FIFO and food safety requirements for perishable goods
* Maintain clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environments aligned with HACCP, QA, and biosecurity standards
* Oversee packaging materials management to ensure uninterrupted supply to production and grading operations
Transport & Distribution
* Plan and schedule transport to grading floors, external storage locations, and customers
* Manage fleet operations (company-owned or contracted), including compliance, maintenance, and driver management
* Ensure deliveries meet customer service levels and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements
* Monitor and control transport costs while optimising routes and vehicle utilisation
* Manage returns and rejected product with a strong focus on traceability
Leadership & People Management
* Lead, develop, and motivate warehouse and transport teams to achieve performance and safety targets
* Ensure appropriate staffing levels, training, and capability to meet operational demand
* Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement
* Ensure compliance with WHS, HACCP, QA, food safety, and retailer standards
* Maintain audit-ready records and reporting across warehouse and transport operations
* Analyse KPIs including DIFOT, stock accuracy, damages, costs, and safety metrics
* Implement improvements to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance customer service
* Contribute logistics insights into S&OP and production planning processes
About You
You're a confident operational leader with a strong background in warehouse and transport management, ideally within FMCG or perishable goods. You thrive in fast-moving environments, remain calm under pressure, and take pride in delivering safe, efficient, and customer-focused outcomes.
What We're Looking For
* Experience in warehouse and transport management (FMCG or perishable goods preferred)
* Strong understanding of HACCP, QA, CoR, and food safety requirements
* Proven leadership and people management capability
* Experience using ERP/WMS and transport scheduling systems
* Forklift licence (advantageous)
* Valid driver's licence
* Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
