Ongoing, Full-Time Opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service VPS Grade 4: $97,955 - $111,142 plus superannuation. The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Coordinator to provide a critical role within Specialist Response Unit. About the Business Unit Corrections Victoria operates Victoria's adult corrections system, including Community Correctional Services across more than 50 locations, and manages 11 public prisons, one transition centre, and oversees three privately operated prisons. It ensures prisoners are safely and securely contained and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour. The Reintegration and Engagement Services Division is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including quality assurance systems for risk assessment and case management, offending behaviour programs, and transition and reintegration supports. The Community Operations and Offender Services Division has responsibility for the post-sentence supervision scheme and is also responsible for the Secretariat of the Victorian Adult Parole Board. The Post Sentence Branch, within the Reintegration and Engagement Services Division of Corrections Victoria, provides central oversight and governance of the post sentence scheme and offenders subject to post sentence orders. The Serious Offenders Act 2018 sets out a civil, non-punitive scheme that provides for the ongoing supervision or detention of serious sex and/or serious violent offenders who have completed their sentence and pose an unacceptable risk of committing further relevant offences. Corrections Victoria's end-to-end management and delivery of services to serious offenders on post-sentence orders occurs through a multi-faceted governance and operating model. About the Role The Senior Coordinator, Specialist Response Unit assists several important functions of the Specialist Response Unit. The role supports the coordination of monitoring strategies for supervision order offenders with Victoria Police and other Corrections Victoria business areas. Some of your duties will include: Maintain policies, systems, procedures and practices relevant to the Specialist Response Unit functions, including Corrections Victoria's obligations under the Sex Offender Registration Act 2004. Manage and monitor operational service functions for the Specialist Response Unit and ensure these functions are consistent with operating procedures, agency agreements, legislative requirements, and the Serious Offenders Act 2018. Support the coordination of monitoring strategies for supervision order offenders with Victoria Police and other Corrections Victoria business areas including the Corrections Victoria's Intelligence Unit and the Electronic Monitoring Program. Develop briefings, correspondence, reports, and provide authoritative information and advice to staff and other key stakeholders in relation to the Sex Offender Register and the management of offenders subject to a Supervision Order. Develop, implement and maintain statistical data collection including preparation and analysis of statistical reports.
