The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and growth-focused Junior Accountant (1–2 years' public practice experience) to join our close-knit Gold Coast Business Services & Tax Advisory team, with an immediate start available.
This role is ideal for someone keen to build a long-term career in public practice, gain exposure to advisory work, and work closely with Partners and senior team members. You will support the day-to-day compliance and advisory needs of our small and medium business (SME) clients, with strong prospects for career progression over the medium to long term.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare BAS, IAS, and STP for companies, trusts, and sole traders
* Prepare individual income tax returns, including rental properties and sole trader schedules
* Assist with processing trust and company accounts to prepare financial statements and income tax returns
* Assist with preparation of trust minutes
* Support the preparation of tax planning, structuring, and risk management advice
* Assist Partners with client meetings and group initiatives
* Contribute to client portfolios across compliance and advisory work
* Work closely with Partners and Managers to develop client-facing and advisory skills
* Support team members and gain exposure to leadership responsibilities
* Maintain the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism
About You
* 1–2 years' experience in accounting (public practice preferred)
* Strong time management skills and attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proactive, eager to learn, and a positive team player
* Comfortable communicating directly with clients
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting major preferred but not essential)
* Experience with Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office 365
* Full training, mentoring, and ongoing support provided
