About the Role
The Workers' Compensation Claims Consultant plays a pivotal role in Telstra's self‑insured Workers' Compensation Claims and Health Management & Rehabilitation Consultants (HMRCs) teams, providing coordinated proactive claims' management services to Telstra employees who are injured at work. The position holder is responsible for end‑to‑end management of a portfolio of claims through:
- Decision making in accordance with legislative requirements, license performance standards and obligations, internal policies and procedures.
- Developing outcomes‑focused strategies to drive recovery and sustainable return to work.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver personalized claims' management strategies with a focus on protected and sustainable outcomes; and
- Providing a service experience that is tailored, effective and customer focused.

What You'll Do
- Manage a portfolio of complex cases and be committed to paying the right compensation to the right person at the right time
- Adequately identify, assess and review critical information to make reasonable decisions based on sound evidence and justification
- Develop effective case management strategies which consider all stakeholders and drive positive outcomes
- Listen and understand the needs of the customer whilst fostering collaborative relationships to facilitate recovery and return to work
- Contribute to the development of consistent and robust Workers' compensation solutions in accordance with legislative requirements and internal HS&E; compliance processes and frameworks to promote a safe and healthy workplace at Telstra.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in workers' compensation claims management
- An empathetic, resilient and motivational approach to provide customer centric support
- A supportive and proactive team player who is focused on the 'we' not the 'I'
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, conflict resolution skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing claims under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation 1988 Act
