About the role

Eastford Creek Vineyard is seeking an experienced Cook to join our team in Sassafras, Tasmania. This Full-Time role has a degree of seasonality meaning some additional responsibilities in our bottling and disgorge line form a key part of the ongoing sustainability of the position.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing, cooking and serving our renowned platters as well as meals for weddings and events using fresh, seasonal ingredients
2. Ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
3. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
4. Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
5. In the busy season of November to January this full time position is exclusively based as a cook in our busy restaurant. In the quieter months the role is a split position between the kitchen and our winery.
6. Winery work is 2-3 days a week throughout February to October, operating our bottling line, disgorge line and assisting in the winery. The applicant will also likely be providing viticultural assistance in our extensive vineyard.

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role, preferably within the hospitality industry with 3 years experience or training to Cert 3 level.
2. Experience operating and maintaining a bottling line and disgorge machine, including troubleshooting and adjusting the machinery to ensure smooth process flow
3. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
4. Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the kitchen team and customers
5. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
7. We employ a range of seasonal workers through peak season, speaking a language other than English (Mandarin, French or Italian) is seen as a significant benefit to the role for effective training of these seasonal employees.
