Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes to menu and presentation standards
2. Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all services
3. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service, especially during peak times
4. Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness at all times
5. Assist with stock management, ordering, and inventory control
6. Contribute to menu development, daily specials, and recent ideas
7. Support and mentor junior team members as required
8. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
Qualifications & Experience
1. Minimum qualification: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (mandatory)
2. Certificate IV or Diploma in Hospitality/Management (desirable)
3. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen (experience in Indian cuisine highly regarded)
4. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and handling procedures
5. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks
6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
7. Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards
8. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
