About the Role As a Parking Compliance Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the community and maintaining the amenity of the municipality for residents, traders, and visitors across this South-East Melbourne Council. Working in a field-based environment, you will help ensure the safe, fair, and efficient use of public parking through proactive patrols, community engagement, and the enforcement of parking regulations. This role requires a balanced approach that combines compliance with education, as you provide guidance and support to members of the public from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Previous Local Government experience in a similar role will be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Enforce parking restrictions in accordance with the Road Safety Act and Regulations, promoting compliance through education, advice, and engagement with the community. Conduct regular patrols to monitor parking activity and address breaches in a professional and customer-focused manner. Prepare documentation and assist with the prosecution process where required. Monitor and report issues relating to parking infrastructure, including ticket machines, pay stations, and signage. Maintain accurate patrol records and perform regular data uploads and downloads between handheld devices and network systems. (Band 5 – Advanced) Support the monitoring of Council’s School Crossing Supervisor service where required.
