Registered Nurse (Workplace Flu Vaccinations inc COVID-19)

About You: Appropriate tertiary qualifications and registration with AHPRA (evidence required). Immunisation accreditation as approved by the relevant State/Territory Health Department. Current driver’s license and vehicle.
Position Summary: As a Registered Nurse (Immunisation), you will ensure the smooth operation of clinics and provide exceptional care to clients and staff. This specialty nursing role requires a professional growth mindset, ongoing education, and responsibility for your learning.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum one year’s nursing experience, preferably in community-based roles
* Experience in administering vaccines to adults; experience with infants and adolescents is advantageous but not mandatory
* Knowledge of communicable diseases, occupational immunisation programs, and immunisation practices in workplace and school settings
* Ability to manage post-vaccination emergencies with limited assistance
* Thorough knowledge of immunisation procedures and practices
* Strong interpersonal skills to gain cooperation from clients
* Ability to work independently and set priorities
* Administrative skills and proficiency with computer programs
* Experience as practice nurse or community nurse preferred; emergency or occupational health nursing background beneficial
* Competence with relevant equipment and software (desirable)
* Knowledge of current legislation, standards, policies, and procedures
Job Responsibilities:
* Administer vaccines and conduct clinics per protocols and regulations
* Maintain vaccination records and manage supplies
* Ensure proper vaccine storage in line with guidelines
* Communicate effectively with clients and staff
* Handle client inquiries and clinic delays professionally
* Report incidents promptly
Additional duties include providing high-level customer service, maintaining confidentiality, ongoing personal development, clinical duties within competency, explaining procedures, promoting immunisation benefits, managing vaccine stocks, and adhering to safety standards.
