Groundwater Modelling Team Leader
Our team is seeking a Groundwater Modelling Team Leader to lead our national Groundwater Modelling team and collaborate with state-based groundwater and surface water team leaders.
Job Overview
This role involves leading and coordinating the national Groundwater Modelling team as a virtual team across multiple offices. It also requires collaborating with state-based groundwater and surface water team leaders to deliver solutions for clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate the national Groundwater Modelling team as a virtual team across multiple offices.
* Collaborate with state-based groundwater and surface water team leaders to deliver client solutions.
* Work with technical discipline managers and hydrogeology technical directors to implement the business plan aligned with global priorities.
* Contribute to a strong backlog and pipeline of work through technical excellence, practical solutions, and strong client relationships.
* Engage with other teams and sectors to deliver multidisciplinary projects where needed.
Requirements
* 7–20+ years of industry experience as a hydrogeologist, including consultancy experience.
* An appropriate Engineering or Science tertiary qualification.
* Strong technical background in numerical modelling, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater impact assessment, and hydrogeological investigation.
* Understanding of Australian groundwater legislation and guidelines related to resource development and infrastructure projects.
* Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
* Demonstrated experience managing and delivering large technical projects, particularly complex groundwater modelling projects.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and ability to work effectively within a team.
* Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
* Experience mentoring junior staff in preparing quality reports on time and within budget.
* Experience collaborating with related technical staff to deliver project solutions.
* Ability to identify and convert opportunities and leverage client relationships for business development.
* Proven track record in building, nurturing, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.
* Experience or understanding of the broader water market (surface water resources highly regarded).
* Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
