Position Overview:
This key role reports directly to the Head of Sales and provides subject matter sales expertise for the Industrial/Heavy Industry vertical, you will offer guidance and support to the other Territory Managers in the region. The successful National Business Development Manager will be responsible for both direct/personal strategic selling activity along with direction and assistance of sales staff in securing New Business opportunities. The role works with regional support teams in the preparation and submission of supply tenders and if required to prepare major submissions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve sales targets and market share growth.
* Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive landscapes. Provide insights to support decision-making.
* Team Leadership: Support other Territory Sales Managers dotted across the country, Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
* New Business Acquisition: Identify and pursue strategic targeted new business opportunities across manufacturing and heavy industrial markets.
* Personal Sales Performance Monitoring: Implement effective sales performance metrics and reporting systems. Continuously monitor and analyse sales data to optimize strategies.
* Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets related to business development activities. Ensure cost-effectiveness and a positive return on investment.
* Commercial: Run major RFP’s and tender submissions, negotiate commercially viable outcomes
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product development, and operations to align strategies and achieve common goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven track record of successfully driving strategic business growth and negotiating up to C Suite level.
* You will be highly regarded if you come from the industrial chemicals, lubricants, Fluid Handling or have sold Hydraulic applications into broad industrial markets
* Strong industrial technical solution selling experience.
* Experience of supporting and influencing commercial outcomes through others
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
* Willingness to travel nationally as required
