The University of Sydney seeks a talented Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Plant Pathology to join its Faculty of Science. The successful applicant will bring expertise in plant pathology, including pathogen diversity and biology, diagnostics, epidemiology, biosecurity, and disease management.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in plant pathology or a related plant science discipline, with a demonstrated research track record of excellence in plant pathology. They will also possess experience in teaching plant pathology, including lectures, tutorials, and supervision of laboratory and field-based practicals.

Key responsibilities include contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, conducting research, and participating in management and administration. The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning, as well as excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements

* A PhD or equivalent in plant pathology or a related plant science discipline;

* Demonstrated research excellence in plant pathology, with national and international collaborations and publications;

* Experience in securing research funding;

* Teaching experience in plant pathology, including lectures, tutorials, and supervision;

* Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;

* Demonstrated understanding and experience of relevant work health and safety issues;

* A valid driver's licence;

The commencement level for this position will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and knowledge.
