Due to continued growth and the award of exciting new projects, we are looking for an experienced Expeditor to join our Naval Base workshop.
About the role
Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent, you will play a critical role in supporting workshop operations by coordinating dispatch and delivery services to ensure materials are received and distributed efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
Liaising with the project team to manage the collection and delivery of project materials to and from subcontractors and suppliers
Producing accurate delivery dockets for all outgoing dispatches
Providing clear and concise work instructions to drivers
Identifying and addressing any delivery issues, delays, or disruptions to keep projects on schedule
Organising materials into the appropriate storage locations for easy access
Visiting suppliers to expedite materials and report progress
Ensuring all dispatch documentation and photographs are completed, filed, and stored correctly
About you
Previous experience coordinating drivers and deliveries, ensuring any relevant legislative requirements are managed.
You will bring experience from a heavy steel or industrial environment and possess the following skills and qualifications
Proven experience in coordinating freight and driver logistics, with a strong understanding of transport regulations
Competency in freight and load restraint management
Valid Forklift Licence (LF)
Valid HR Driver's Licence
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
