I’m currently partnering with an Australian-owned HVAC services business that has been established and trusted in the industry for over 40 years, delivering high-standard, technically complex commercial work for some of Australia’s most recognised organisations — including CBRE, Charter Hall, Marriott, BHP and CPB Contractors.
Now they are continuing to expand its footprint across Canberra and the ACT. This is a critical role for the business as they grow their ACT presence, with a clear plan to establish a local office in the future.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and fault-finding commercial HVAC systems across a variety of sites throughout the ACT.
Key aspects of the role include:
* Full autonomy — plan and manage your own day
* Start and finish from home, travelling directly to site
* Ability to work from home for ad-hoc tasks, reporting and planning
* Tool meetings conducted via Zoom
* Strong admin, scheduling and management support
* Trusted to manage your workload without constant oversight
This role is ideal for a technician who values trust, autonomy and accountability, without micromanagement.
Salary:
* $55–$65 per hour + super (circa $115k–$135k base)
* Plenty of overtime available for those who want it
* Long-term job security through established commercial contracts
* Strong earning potential for high performers
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
ACT is a key growth area for the business, which means real opportunity for the right person.
As the region expands, there are clear pathways into:
* Service Manager
* Project Manager
* Senior / leadership roles as the ACT operation scales
Progression is based on performance, not politics. There are ongoing pay reviews and increases, and strong performers are recognised and backed.
Culturally, this is a people-first business:
* Family comes first, flexible starts and finishes when life happens
* No blame culture
* Zero tolerance for bullying, egos or toxic behaviour
* Long tenure, people stay because they’re respected and supported
What My Client Is Looking For:
* Proven experience in commercial HVAC service
* Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
* ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
* AFFS licence / accreditation
* Restricted electrical licence
* A technician who is reliable, self-motivated and comfortable working independently
