About the Role
Monash Health is seeking a passionate and motivated Medical Physicist Registrar to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for candidates ready to commence the Training, Education and Assessment Program (TEAP) through the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM). As part of a dynamic and supportive department, you will gain practical experience and mentorship while making meaningful contributions to patient care and radiation safety.
Responsibilities
* Work under the supervision of senior physicists and the Radiation Safety Officer.
* Gain experience in quality assurance, compliance testing, dosimetry, and shielding calculations.
* Contribute to Monash Health's compliance with the Radiation Act, Australian Standards, and relevant codes of practice.
* Progress through the ACPSEM TEAP program in Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics.
* Participate in departmental meetings, teaching, and research activities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree majoring in Physics (required)
* Eligible for enrolment in the ACPSEM TEAP for Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics
* Eligible for a Victorian Radiation Use Licence
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Knowledge of radiation safety principles and medical imaging technologies
* Programming skills (e.g. Python) and scientific writing experience are desirable
