About the Role
We are seeking experienced and motivated Mainframe Software Developers to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications in a z/OS mainframe environment.
* Write and optimise complex SQL queries for DB2 for z/OS.
* Integrate COBOL applications with DB2 databases and IBM MQ messaging systems.
* Manage user access and system security using RACF.
* Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including testers, analysts, and DevOps engineers.
* Contribute to system documentation and knowledge sharing.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and modernisation efforts using Micro Focus tools.
Required Technical Skills
Core Mainframe Technologies (Mandatory)
* COBOL (e.g., IBM COBOL for z/OS)

* Use of DB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG)

* User profile management
* Access control and security enforcement

* Message queue design and integration
* Queue/topic management
* z/OS Environment
* JCL (Job Control Language)
* TSO/ISPF
* VSAM file handling
Desirable
* Micro Focus Enterprise Developer / Analyzer
* Experience in mainframe application modernisation
* Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
