APG is currently seeking an experienced Communications Advisor for a 12 month contract within a Buderim Government Sector.

**Primary purpose of the role**
- In the role of Communications Advisor, you will actively participate as a member of the Communications Team to advise on, develop, implement and provide communications services for community engagement, stakeholder relationship management, issues management, media relations, executive correspondence and internal communications to ensure effective relationship outcomes for the North Coast Region.
- We are seeking an organised, qualified communications professional with a keen interest in community engagement to join our team! Provide key support as we strive to develop creative strategies for how we engage with our community. As one of our Communication Advisors, you will have opportunity contribute to the delivery of a full and fast paced program of community consultations. This role will focus on engagement for transport planning activities for the Moreton Bay, Somerset, Sunshine Coast and Noosa council areas. It is the perfect opening for an established community engagement practitioner, or someone ready to take the next step in their career as you'll receive guidance and development from the senior leaders of the team.
- Given the nature of the work, you will need to be able and willing to work occasionally outside normal working hours, as required.

**accountabilities**
- Assist in the facilitation of frontline stakeholder engagement and consultation activities to support the communications and engagement program.
- Assist in producing high quality written materials in both traditional and digital mediums in support of the communications and engagement program.
- Build and sustain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide high-level administrative support, including the organisation of a program of community consultations and the collection and maintenance of community related data.
- Provide communication advice and support in the areas of communication strategy and risk assessment, stakeholder and community engagement, and media and issues management related to transport infrastructure projects.
**Required Experience**:
- A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence
- While qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations or journalism would be highly desirable.
- Experience in a communication or community engagement role in an environment dealing with infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport or civil engineering sector, will also be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) framework and/or certification will also be highly regarded.
