: Location : Clayton campusEmployment Type : Full-timeDuration : Continuing appointmentRemuneration : $120,138 - $132,610 pa HEW Level 08 (plus 17% employer superannuation)The Opportunity We have an exciting new position for a passionate Senior AV Engineer to join our Design team to support us in managing all things AV within the University.
The Senior AV Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining a set of standard audiovisual room designs suitable for managing all teaching and meeting spaces within the University as an enterprise fleet.
The role will supervise the work of both internal and external AV designers/consultants and is responsible for ensuring all design documents produced are compliant with the Monash AV standards framework.
The Senior Engineer will keep abreast of AV industry trends and make recommendations on the adoption of new technologies.We pride ourselves on ensuring AV technology standards are incorporated effectively into the Monash teaching and administrative environment whilst also managing custom AV installations for specialist teaching or research use, as required.
The AV Design team manages the AV technology standards incorporated into the Monash teaching and administrative environment (2000+ rooms) as well as a small number of custom AV installations for specialist teaching or research use.Responsibilities Lead the design and maintenance of standard AV room designs for teaching and meeting spaces across the University as an enterprise fleet.Supervise internal and external AV designers/consultants; ensure design documents comply with Monash AV standards.Stay current with AV industry trends and recommend adoption of new technologies.Qualifications Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and government regulations.High-level operational knowledge of audiovisual systems and emerging technologies for individual rooms and enterprise-wide management.Proven skills in audiovisual hardware/software, AV control system programming and AV digital/analogue cabling and communications protocols.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities; awareness of environmental sustainability in AV space.Demonstrated relationship management, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a drive for customer service excellence.About Monash University At Monash, work feels different.
