OverviewWe're supporting a Federal Government environment seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to help strengthen and secure cloud-hosted platforms and DevOps environments. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on embedding security across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and incident response capabilities. You'll work closely with technical and architecture teams to improve the organisation's overall security posture through proactive engineering, automation, and secure-by-design practices. Key responsibilitiesDesign and implement security controls across cloud and enterprise environments Support secure configuration of Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Entra ID, and endpoint security solutions Embed security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) security controls and automation Configure and optimise monitoring, detection, and alerting capabilities Support vulnerability management, dependency reviews, and remediation activities Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation planning Assist with threat hunting, threat intelligence, and proactive security initiatives Ensure alignment with organisational security policies, controls, and governance requirements What we're looking forStrong experience in Cyber Security Engineering or DevSecOps environments Hands-on experience with Microsoft security technologies (Sentinel, Defender, Entra ID) Experience securing cloud-native and CI/CD environments Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code and automation practices Experience with security monitoring, detection engineering, and incident response Knowledge of vulnerability management and secure software delivery practices Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capability Additional requirementsMust be able to obtain Baseline security clearance 40 hours per week Hybrid working – 2 days per week in office Why this roleFederal Government environment with modern cloud security focus Opportunity to shape secure engineering and DevSecOps capability Exposure to cloud security, automation, monitoring, and threat hunting Collaborative technical environment with strong security uplift focus LanewayWe move quickly on roles that matter.
