About the Role
As the Local Development Officer, you will deliver community development initiatives across Roma, working in partnership with community groups, local businesses, government agencies and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include
Building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships across Roma and surrounding communities
Planning and delivering community-based programs, projects and events
Identifying and securing external funding opportunities
Supporting economic and social development initiatives
Coordinating Council-led events that strengthen community partnership
While your primary focus will be Roma, you'll also provide leadership and support to regional projects and strategic initiatives as required.

Permanent, Full-time Position (36.25hours per week)
Stream A Level 5-6 -$80,281.66 to $85,147.67 per annum
Maranoa locality allowance $72.00 per fortnight
Work a 9-day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off.

What You'll Be Doing
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with community organisations and attend meetings to provide support and advice
Facilitate partnerships and build capacity within local groups
Implement community engagement activities aligned with Council's Operational Plan
Contribute to tourism, sport and recreation, business development, arts and cultural initiatives
Economic & Community Development
Coordinate grant programs and assist community organisations with funding applications
Identify and pursue State and Federal funding opportunities
Deliver programs across town development, tourism, youth, arts, heritage and recreation
Coordinate bi-annual school holiday programs and Youth Week activities
Deliver annual and special Council events such as ANZAC Day, Australia Day, Seniors Week and Volunteers Week
Support regional event promotion and marketing initiatives
Reporting & Administration
Prepare reports and presentations for Council meetings and workshops
Coordinate stakeholder meetings and follow up on Council resolutions
Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Maintain accurate records within Council systems
