About the role
Our client is currently looking for a fulltime experienced Construction/Civil Trainer & Assessor to join their team based in Adelaide. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs to individuals and teams in the civil construction industry. This role is crucial in ensuring that all workers meet industry standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
* Teaching students practical and theoretical aspects of civil construction (e.g., earthworks, concrete, drainage, roadworks, plant operation).
* Conduct competency-based assessments (both practical and written).
* Continuously updating course materials to ensure relevance and compliance with industry standards and align with national qualifications
* Collaborating with subject matter experts to enhance training content and approach
* Instill and monitor compliance with WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards.
* Provide support and mentorship to students.

About You
Along with a strong work ethic and demonstrated previous experience in a similar position you'll have/be:
* Full Australian working rights or be a permanent resident is essential to the role
* Significant experience (3+ years) as a trainer or assessor in the construction/civil industry. Credentials: TAE40122 (or older version TAE40116) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (mandatory in Australia).
* At least3–5+ years of hands-on civil construction experience, and have Certificate III or higher in Civil Construction or a related discipline.
* Relevant plant operation tickets, White Card, and possibly a driver's license.
* Strong technical knowledge of construction and civil engineering practices, along with a deep understanding of relevant regulations and standards
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students
* Proficient in using training technology and digital tools to enhance the learning experience
* A passion for continuous learning and a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
