Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Scrub Scout Team in the Operating Theatres. The role involves supporting the Orthopaedic surgery team in a collaborative, team‑oriented setting. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will work alongside Department Managers, Clinical Nurses, Team and Shift Leaders to deliver high quality patient care aligned with Ramsay Health Care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in the operating theatre, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety.
- Prepare and maintain equipment and instruments required for orthopaedic procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to intra‑operative changes.
- Coordinate anesthesia and post‑operative care as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and support the team's shift handover responsibilities.
Skills & Experience
- Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Scrub Scout or equivalent theatre nursing role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and high customer service focus.
- Ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate patient care needs.
- Strong customer service and time‑management abilities.
- Successful working in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Ability to work a rotating roster.
Remuneration
Base hourly rate ranging from $37.75 – $53.02 plus superannuation based on experience level and qualifications (NSW RN/Midwife level 1–8). Equivalent full‑time salary: $72,420.40 – $101,704.72.
