Senior Associate in Workplace Relations
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a broad mix of advisory and litigation work across employment, industrial relations, equal opportunity, student safety and wellbeing, duty of care, and stakeholder management—primarily in the independent education sector.
* Key responsibilities include advising on all stages of the employment lifecycle, drafting employment and contractor agreements, policies, procedures, Deeds, and pleadings.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise agreement negotiation, preparation and lodgement, and award and EA interpretation.
* Managing claims before various tribunals and courts, including unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination, and breach of contract.
* Advising on mandatory reporting and compliance with reportable conduct schemes.
* Supporting schools with student safety, wellbeing, discipline, and stakeholder/media management issues.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Associate to join our Workplace Relations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and working closely with senior lawyers to deliver high-quality legal services.
* A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience in workplace relations/employment law is essential.
* Experience in the education sector (particularly student safety and wellbeing) is highly regarded.
* Strong litigation and/or corporate governance experience is desirable.
* Excellent drafting, communication and relationship-building skills are required.
* A well-developed commercial/strategic mindset is necessary for success in this role.
