About the Role
This Assistant Accountant role suits someone looking to build strong foundations across core accounting in a fast-paced environment. You'll support day-to-day finance operations and play a key role in keeping records accurate and on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting month-end close, including journals and reconciliations
* Preparing and posting general ledger journals
* Reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
* Processing accounts payable invoices and supporting payment runs
* Assisting with accounts receivable, including invoicing and follow-ups
* Maintaining accurate financial records for audit and reporting purposes
* Supporting ad-hoc finance and accounting tasks
* Working closely with internal teams across retail operations
About You
You're detail-focused, organised, and comfortable working with high volumes.
You'll bring:
* Demonstrated experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
* Retail, FMCG, or consumer goods background (preferred)
* Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
* Clear and confident communication skills
* Ability to manage deadlines and priorities
* A practical, hands-on approach
* Experience using accounting or ERP systems
* Strong Excel skills
* Confidence working across AP and AR processes
* Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
