The Royal Newcastle Aeroclub (RNAC) is seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead and oversee the objectives of the Organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of business operations, assisting in strategic development, growth and successful implementation.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all matters of business. They will be a competent leader able to provide guidance that enhances performance in a manner which incorporates the company's vision and culture.
The goal will be to ensure the profitability of our company's activities to drive sustainable development and long-term success.
The position reports to the Royal Newcastle Aeroclub (RNAC) Board of Directors.
Key Accountabilities
* Identify and Generate New Opportunities
* This includes researching and targeting potential clients and aviation service organisations to develop synergistic opportunities for the expansions and economic development of the organisation.
* Project Management Skills
* Ability to identify, prioritise and resource projects for the organisation to ensure a reliable and efficient operation.
* Strong skills in managing projects and resources effectively, on time and within budget.
* Building and Maintaining Relationships
* Fostering strong relationships with aviation partners, aerodrome authorities and other key stakeholders.
* Building a leadership role for RNAC members, employees, partners, vendors and others to improve overall support and responsiveness which enhances the organisations image, reputation and attractiveness.
* Developing Business Cases and Proposals
* Strong, formal business cases will be required to support execution of strategies, plans or programs. Detailed analysis, impacts, economic returns, sensitivities and other common parameters of study are critical to lower the risk of investment decisions.
* Conduct Market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscapes, potential opportunities and to support Business Cases and Proposals.
* Develop the annual Plan and Budget for each fiscal year, submitted to the Board of Directors for approval by 1 July of each year.
o The Plan and Budget is to have a minimum forward projection of 3 – 5 years for future planning and financial management.
o Monthly reporting of budget status to the Board of Directors for project update, current and anticipated cash position with other critical financial parameters reviewed.
o Sales and Negotiations
* Effective in negotiation of contracts and agreements to secure and execute business arrangements.
o Management of ongoing contracts as company administrator and representative.
o Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency, effectiveness and job satisfaction.
o Assess overall company performance against objectives
* Regularly report to the Board of Directors, and Members as appropriate, on company objectives, status and plans.
* Represent the company in events, conferences etc.
* Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrated strong understanding of commercial principles, financial analysis and business planning.
* Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to analyse data, identify opportunities, develop solutions and implement.
* Prior experience in the aviation industry is desirable, preferably in sales, business development or related fields.
* Education
* Tertiary qualifications involving analytical and marketing skills and/or practical experience leading to the acquisition of equivalent skills, abilities and competencies.
* Capable of creating and working as part of a team to achieve the overall vison through living the values of RNAC and achieving individual and group goals and KPI's.
