The main focus of the Pre-Delivery Manager is to manage the Pre-Delivery Department, ensuring that new and used vehicles are prepared, built, cleaned and detailed for delivery within a given timeframe and at a standard representative of Dealership expectations. To act as an ambassador of the dealership and brand amongst the wider community.
Basic Functions:
* Providing the best possible service to customers whilst maintaining an efficient and profitable operation. This will be achieved through: building and maintaining positive customer and employee relationships; controlling costs; operating at optimum capacity and by setting and obtaining internal sales and profit objectives.
* Providing leadership and direction to employees in the Pre-Delivery department, aligning activities with the broader business plan
* Organise, direct and control the activities of the Pre-Delivery staff, ensuring optimum use of all material and personnel resources.
* Regular reporting of department's actual sales performance against set targets to the Managing Director
* Monitoring the Pre-Delivery department's revenue, margin and expense performance initiating correction action when required
* Constantly review all operating procedures and develop strategies to define procedures and build efficiencies.
* Promoting a safe working environment, ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment.
* Ensuring that at all times OSH and HR standards are followed and that employee safety is a primary focus in all operations.
* Monitor and enforce pre-delivery department compliance with relevant environmental and OSH regulations.
* Conduct periodic audits of the Dealership's environmental and OSH systems to ensure they remain compliant.
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 12 months experience in similar managerial or supervisory role within the automotive industry.
* Effective time management skills
* Proven ability to lead, motivate & develop staff
* Effective customer service skills
* Technical aptitude (preference for qualified mechanic)
* Current and valid driver's licence and ability to drive manual transmission
* Experience with and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
