The Groundwater Lodge community is set in the heart of our well-preserved colonial architectural town of Maryborough. Our 60 bed home is divided into smaller households that mirror the look and rhythm of home with vast communal areas where our residents can enjoy their own homestyle lounge, dining and kitchen areas with a private backyard for their established gardens and veggie patches.
The Role
Our Support Service Workers provide all hospitality aspects of our Aged Care home such as catering, cleaning and laundry services. You will build strong relationships with our residents, families and Care Staff contributing the optimisation of resident choice and essentially creating a strong sense of home in accordance with our values supporting our residents quality of life.
What You Will Do
* Completing required documentation and reporting
* Ensure handwashing supplies are available and replenished
* Contribute to an effective laundry service including item checking & labelling
* Preparation and presentation of dietary services, including meals and drinks
* Assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties
* Distribution of meals to residents & dining room services
* All aspects of cleaning throughout the resident rooms and facility
What You Will Bring
* Currently hold an NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain) - MANDATORY
* Valid Working Rights in Australia - MANDATORY
* Hospitality or Customer Service experience in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassion and Empathy
* An understanding of resident rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes (highly regarded but not essential)
