No two days are the same as a Physiotherapist
An exciting opportunity exists to join our Physiotherapy team at West Gippsland Healthcare Group. We have a team of experienced, dynamic and supportive Grade 1, 2 and 3 Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants to assist you with career development, help you through the challenges and most importantly, to provide high quality care to our community. We are located in a purpose-built Allied Health / Community Rehabilitation Centre situated at West Gippsland Hospital.
This is a permanent part time position of 16 hours per week / 32 hours per fortnight. Exact hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Casual positions are also available. Casuals are employed on an 'as needed' basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours.
Physiotherapy services include the following areas:
Acute inpatient units including Surgical, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Medical and Maternity
Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit
Sub-Acute Unit: GEM and TCP
Aged Care Services (Cooinda at WGHG, Andrews House in Trafalgar)
Community Rehabilitation Service, Prehabilitation and Outpatients
Rehabilitation Groups including: Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, Parkinsons Group, Hip and Knee Groups and Strength and Balance Group
Community and Allied Health Team (Domiciliary Service)
Our physiotherapy department encourages and supports staff attending professional development activities. All staff participate in a supervision program where support and mentoring is provided.
Physiotherapists who are interested in working in Aged Care and have experience in this area are particularly encouraged to apply. Preferred candidate will have:
A Degree in Physiotherapy
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) - Physiotherapy Board
Current Victorian Driver's Licence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience working in Aged Care
The ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Ability to work across multiple areas of the health care service (acute, subacute, outpatients)
IMPORTANT:
Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required prior to commencement.
