Job Description:
The role of Family Support Worker is to provide collaborative and specialist support to individuals and families experiencing family violence. This includes providing risk assessments, safety plans, and connecting families with local services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emotional and practical support to women and children experiencing family violence
* Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans in collaboration with service users and other agencies
* Connect families with local services and support networks
* Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for service users
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services or a related field
* Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and cultural safety principles
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
