**Position Summary**:
The Chief Administrative Officer ("CAO"), Australia works closely with the locally-based distribution teams, as well as the regional CAO teams to assist with all non-sales and non-fund management related aspects of the Australian Asset Management business. The CAO is also responsible for working with the CEO to help develop and execute business strategy.
The CAO is an integral part of the local management team and is responsible for overseeing the infrastructure of the business including but not limited to Client Service, Client and Business Platform, Product Development, Technology and Operations to ensure top tier client service for both internal and external clients; this will involve liaising with numerous offshore teams.
The CAO is also responsible for coordinating with control functions to ensure compliance with internal policies / procedures and external regulations and will be responsible for the corporate governance of the Australian business.
This role will help support the CAO in performing all of the above duties. The role will report directly to the CAO based in Sydney. The position is based in Sydney.
**Key Accountabilities/ Major Responsibilities:
- Assist the CAO to oversee and be responsible for all non-sales and non-fund management related aspects of the Australian Asset Management business including but not limited to Client Service, Client and Business Platforms, Product Development, Technology and Operations to ensure top tier client service for both internal and external clients.
- Working with the Australian CAO to help develop and execute business strategy
- Assist to coordinate with Control functions to ensure compliance with internal policies / procedures and external regulations
- Stay abreast of regulatory, risk and compliance change agenda and provide input to formulate strategy and implement change where necessary
- Assist with the responsibility for the oversight and development of the onshore fund range for both retail and wholesale funds
- Help oversee and manage third party vendor relationships including but not limited to the Responsible Entity and Fund Administrator
- Over time represent the Asset Management Australia business on various internal committees and external industry associations
- Work closely with offshore teams, primarily in APAC
**Qualifications/ Experience Required**:
Formal Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics or other related discipline preferred.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Some experience of business management (preferably with an asset manager) within financial services would be helpful.
- Experience with Australian financial institutions/intermediaries/fund industry.
- Specific equity, fixed income, alternatives, or multi-asset marketing experience helpful
- Degree-level education preferred
- Excellent problem solving and some project management skills would be helpful, with ability to multi-task and self prioritize
- Strong quantitative approach balanced with client insight mindset
- Excellent verbal, written, visual/presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas in business terms to peers and senior management
- Proven good business acumen and results orientation
- Has a high level of self-motivation, with strong integrity and ethics
