* Permanent Full Time Position 35 hours per week

AGENCY OVERVIEW

Using a feminist framework that acknowledges a gendered analysis of domestic violence, DV West aims to provide a holistic response to women with and without accompanying children who are experiencing domestic and family violence and related homelessness, emphasising the principles of empowerment, self-determination, and an acknowledgement of the dynamics of domestic violence in a political and social context.

We do this through the provision of direct support, safe accommodation, housing and documenting and identifying the perpetrators impact on the victim-survivor through the implementation of the Children and Young People’s (CYP) Framework (Gander, 2015) and the Safe & Together Model. As an Organisation we work towards creating a non-violent community where women and children, regardless of their social and cultural background, age, and sexual orientation, will have access to the knowledge and supports needed to take control over their own lives and for the surrounding systems to support them. DV West is guided by principles of social justice and equality.

Our Blue Mountains service provides crisis accommodation, outreach support and transitional housing to women and their children experiencing Domestic and/or Family Violence. For more information about our work and values please visit www.dvwest.org.au/.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Manager is responsible for providing a safe, positive work environment for DV West employees and overseeing the coordination of the day-to-day operations, and implementation of DV West's strategic plan, policies and procedures.

The Manager will resource, support and oversee case management with the aim of providing high quality services that capture the protective strategies and actions of women, and the needs and wishes of children. They will support a practice method that empowers women and their children to live lives free from violence and the opportunity to heal in a safe environment.

The Manager will support staff to enable women to move seamlessly across all locations and levels of support that DV West provides. The position will provide regular supervision and staff development and continue to build good practice across DV West.

ESSENTIAL Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support a Specialist DFV team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Strong commitment to working within a feminist framework and an understanding of the gendered nature of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV).
* Proven ability to provide trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally safe support to women and children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and CALD clients.
* An advanced practice understanding if the Children and Young Person’s Framework (Gander, 2015) and the Safe & Together Model.
* Experience in developing, maintaining, and strengthening partnerships with community organisations, government agencies, and service providers to advocate for clients on issues related to DFV.
* High level planning and organisational skills, including excellent written skills
* Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and the Specialist Housing Services Client Information & Management System.
* A Current NSW driver’s license.
DESIRABLE criteria
* Current first aid certificate.

EMPLOYMENT AS PER SCHCADS AWARD

Based on 35 hours week pay range for SCHADS Level 7. Plus 11% superannuation and Salary Sacrifice offered.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Confirmation of employment will be subject to candidate's possession of a Current Australian Drivers Licence, Working with Children Check, and completed Australian Criminal History Check prior to commencement of employment.
