This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. The Role

As the Teacher - Career Practitioner, your role is pivotal in supporting students to make informed, confident decisions about their future pathways. It is desirable that the applicant has knowledge about the diversity of career pathways to guide students as they navigate subject selection, career exploration, vocational pathways, and post‐school options.

The role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative careers teacher, who is passionate about empowering students to make meaningful decisions about their future. You would be working with the Vocational Education Training (VET) Team, staff, families, and external agencies to ensure that students have meaningful opportunities that broaden their understanding of career pathways to support their decision‐making. The successful applicant will ideally display excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with students, colleagues and parents/carers.

This role will include a teaching component, which will be discussed with the successful candidate.

The role of the Teacher - Career Practitioner may include, but is not limited to:

* Collaborating with the VET and Careers Team to develop and deliver engaging career education programs aligned with the Australian Blueprint for Career Development for students in Years 7–12.
* Embedding career development learning across curriculum areas to support students in building the knowledge, skills, and capabilities required for effective career conversations and pathway planning.
* Providing individual and group guidance to students on career pathways at key transition points throughout their schooling.
* Supporting and maintaining partnerships with industry, training providers, and post‐school institutions to enhance student access to pathway opportunities.
* Sourcing and disseminating current career and labour market information to build capability across the school community and strengthen student career development.
* Planning and facilitating workshops for teachers and parent/carers to increase awareness of career development principles, industry trends, and pathway options that support informed student decision‐making.
