Job Objective

A rare hybrid role — technical, client-facing, and influential.

As part of the launch of our new Bendigo branch, we are seeking a Field Technician / Account Manager — someone who enjoys being hands-on with technology while also building strong, trusted relationships with clients.

This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional seeking greater ownership, visibility, and influence than a traditional technically focused position. You will be the primary on-the-ground representative for our business in the Bendigo region, supporting local business clients and contributing to the long-term growth of client partnerships.

About the Role

This is a genuinely hybrid position, combining technical delivery with client relationship management. You will be based in our Central Bendigo premises. Regular working from home is not offered for this role.

Remote technical support is largely delivered by our national service desk; however, when onsite work is required in the Bendigo region, you will be deployed. Outside of hands-on technical work, you will proactively engage with existing clients — providing strategic advice, identifying opportunities for improvement, and recommending solutions that are genuinely in the best interests of the client while also supporting business growth.

Technical work will be assigned via our ticketing system (ConnectWise Manage). You will be empowered to make decisions, take ownership of outcomes, and build meaningful client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

* Complete assigned work within allotted timeframes and in accordance with service level commitments
* Act as a trusted point of contact for assigned client accounts
* Liaise closely with the service desk and senior engineers to resolve complex issues
* Assist with onboarding new clients and supporting the growth of the Bendigo branch
* Maintain accurate documentation and clear, professional client communication
* Collaborate with internal team members to ensure best-practice outcomes for clients
* Work directly with clientele on sales opportunities and tech strategy
* Identify opportunities for client improvement and recommend solutions that are in the best interests of the client while also supporting business growth
* Stay up to date with industry trends, developments, and emerging technologies relevant to our clientele, and leverage this knowledge to deliver premium outcomes

Skills and Experience

* Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical support role, ideally within a Managed Services Provider (MSP)
* Confident, professional, and personable when engaging with key client stakeholders
* Previous client-facing or account management experience is preferred but not essential
* Familiarity with PSA, RMM and documentation tools such as ConnectWise Manage, N-Able, and IT Glue
* Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server operating systems and the Microsoft 365 suite
* Exposure to Sophos XG/XGS firewalls and Datto backup solutions will be highly regarded
* Microsoft certifications will be viewed favorably
* Australian work rights are required for this position
