Primary objective
As an Event Partnerships Executive, you’ll be part of a small, high-performing team responsible for administering the
Territory’s event funding programs, managing agreements, and supporting event organisers to deliver quality outcomes
across the NT, including assisting with the development and coordination of commercial sponsorship and partnership
opportunities.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage, events and initiatives, including scheduling, program budget, logistics and stakeholder relations.
2. Develop and maintain a 12-month calendar of activities and programs that leverage existing events and identify
opportunities for new activities.
3. Act as a key point of contact and build strong relationships with event organisers delivering events across the Northern
Territory.
4. Coordinate and provide administrative support/guidance for event organisers, delivery partners and stakeholders.
5. Assist in the preparation of Place Plans and coordinate the implementation of placemaking initiatives.
6. Manage grant programs for the Tourism and Events unit.
7. Embed evaluation processes to ensure that events and activities are effective and deliver economic and social benefit.
8. Actively contribute to the identification, coordination and delivery of commercial sponsorship and partnership
opportunities within the events portfolio
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated project management skills with experience working with government, business and key stakeholders
including local communities to develop and implement projects and/or events.
2. Strong operational skills in logistics, resource management, OH and S and security.
3. Demonstrated experience in events, marketing and/or the tourism industry.
4. Budget, contract and grant management, including monitoring and reporting.
5. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and liaise with a variety of stakeholders from contractors to service
providers, retailers and other government agencies.
6. Demonstrated ability to take accountability and ownership of duties and problems, supported by excellent problem-
solving skills to troubleshoot and develop fast, innovative and effective solutions.
7. Proven ability to work under general directions while effectively managing priorities, planning and activities to achieve
goals.
8. Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
Desirable
1. Northern Territory Drivers Licence.
2. Working with Children Clearance (Ochre card) or the ability to obtain.
