The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator/Executive Assistant to join our team.
This role is ideal for a candidate with experience as a Project Coordinator within an Architectural or Construction firm, Town Planner within a Council or Private Certifying firm, or within a Compliance/Approvals team.
Your role will play a pivotal part in overseeing project lodgements and approvals, ensuring collation of documentation and ensuring compliance to regulatory controls, along with managing coordination and communication with key stakeholders. The role also involves working closely with our director and senior designers.
Responsibilities:
* Taking ownership of communication with councils, certifiers, consultants and other key stakeholders
* Overseeing the DA/CDC approval processes and ensuring compliance with relevant planning and building codes
* Managing/updating architectural plans as per council requests/plan changes using Revit
* Taking initiative in preparing and reviewing applications, managing project documentation including drawings and reports
* Advising the design team on compliance matters and approval requirements
* Taking ownership to coordinate with councils, certifiers, stakeholders and clients to ensure smooth project timeline efficiency
* Managing the shared company inbox and phone to ensure projects are running efficiently
This role offers the right candidate the opportunity to take ownership and provide initiative of compliance and approvals across a variety of residential and commercial projects, while being a key point of contact for regulatory bodies.
What We're Looking For
* Ability to work autonomously and adapt to a high-pressure environment
* Ability to multitask and take initiate
* Previous experience with council planning, private certification, or compliance in the construction/design industry
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Strong knowledge of planning regulations, building codes and approval processes
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail, a proactive approach, solutions driven approach
* Familiarity with architectural drawings and drafting software such as Revit and AutoCAD
* Previous experience in council assessor/certification process and lodgement
* Must be Australian or New Zealand citizen or resident
