Job Title: Flood Warning Network Database Specialist
At the Bureau of Meteorology, we are seeking a Flood Warning Network Database Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating processes across the flood data value chain to support fit-for-purpose flood data and metadata for the Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) program. This includes routine network monitoring and quality control, station onboarding, and conducting investigations into data quality issues and network outages.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Coordinating with technical experts from across the Bureau and partner organisations to develop and review procedures and systems to optimise the delivery of flood data management services.
* Managing flood station metadata, data flows into downstream systems, and ensuring data quality is fit for purpose.
* Onboarding existing and new flood warning sites coming into the Australian Rain and River Observations (ARRO) Database.
