**What's the role?**
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Sky News, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the People Plan to deliver the Sky News business strategy. This role has a matrix reporting line to the Chief People Officer of News Corp Australia from a HR functional perspective.
You will support Sky News executives and their leaders to:
- Create capability,
- Ensure operating models are optimised,
- Embed people cyclical activities and people strategies and
- Ensure the required culture is in place to achieve business success.
You will be accountable for building trusted advisor relationships with Sky News key talent, on-air presenters and reporters in order to deliver engaging and informative content that rate well.
Based in Macquarie Park, NSW as an active member of the executive team, you will provide expertise and support in organisational design, employee relations, operating models, safety (including supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our people) and leadership effectiveness.
You will deliver a tailored, highly effective and efficient HR service and support for the Sky News business by working closely with NCA's HR Operations and Centres of Excellence teams (Employee Relations, Capability & Culture, Health, Safety & Security and Performance & Rewards).
**What you will deliver and how**:
- Design and deliver people plan that will help Sky News achieve its Strategy and provide advice on how to improve performance, engagement and culture.
- Workplace Health Safety & Security - manage risks - eg pandemic, health and wellbeing initiatives, managing threats and security issues.
- Bring an external perspective on global and industry people trends to Sky News executive team to prepare their business areas for the future.
- Be the trusted advisor, coach, team and organisational dynamics practitioner to the Sky News executive and leadership team.
- Continuously examine, identify and improve the systemic dynamics at work.
- Ensures remuneration and benefits are benchmarked and aligned to the market in order to attract and retain the right people.
- Deliver and embed performance and development practices to improve productivity and overall business performance by ensuring a 'people performance review' cadence.
- Establish strong internal working relationships within and outside of News Corp Australia HR team to enable the provision of best practice technical HR advice of operating model design, operating rhythms, workforce planning to support and improve the business.
- Ensure Compliance knowledge and training conducted across Sky News as appropriate.
- Seek feedback from and respond to Executive and Senior Leaders on the effectiveness of the HR Manager function.
