Job Description:
Project Controls Planner
As a Project Controls Planner, you will assist in supporting cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and schedule development, maintenance, reporting, and monitoring activities, as directed. This is a FIFO position working a 3 : 1 roster based in Karratha, WA.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in identifying the scope associated with schedule activities.
• Gather appropriate information that defines general work requirements for a performing organization and unit.
• Prepare broad activity logic and any required interfaces between activities on schedules.
• Prepare durations for schedule activities within a discipline or specialty, as directed.
• Gather and organize appropriate quantity and workforce information for an assigned discipline or specialty.
• Assist in routine quantity/workforce loading in support of discipline or specialty work logic.
• Complete other responsibilities as designated.
Requirements:
• Graduated within the last 12 months with a Bachelor of Process, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Prior internship experience in relevant construction fields.
• Skills:
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI tools.
• Basic understanding of technical processes, interpretation of engineering drawings, and project management practices associated with engineering and construction projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, work in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts, and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidates must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
